Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs (APAY) 21st General Assembly – Chennai 2023

The Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs (APAY) successfully held its 21st General Assembly from September 15 to 20, 2023, at Hyatt Regency, Chennai, under the theme:
“Journeying Together, As a Resilient Community: Transforming Lives Through Vision 2030.”
This milestone event gathered YMCA members from 28 countries across the Asia-Pacific region, fostering dialogue on resilience, justice, and transformational youth leadership.

The General Assembly was preceded by two significant events hosted from September 13 to 15, 2023:

  • The 5th Youth Assembly, which empowered young leaders to engage with regional issues,
  • And the 1st-ever Gender Equity Forum, hosted at YWCA, which focused on inclusion and equitable development.

Salt and Light Event was the official event partner for all three gatherings, providing end-to-end support—from event planning and logistics to media production and full-scale execution—ensuring a seamless and impactful experience for all attendees.

Salt & Light Events had the honor of organizing the beautiful wedding of Kheerthi and Giulia at the stunning VGP Heritage Resort. This union of an Indian groom and an Italian bride beautifully showcased Tamil heritage and tradition, blending cultural richness with elegance.

We were proud to handle the entire event, from start to finish, ensuring every detail was perfect. The elegant decor by the beach set the perfect backdrop for the ceremony, with a rich Raja Virinthu (traditional South Indian feast) that celebrated the best of Tamil hospitality. As the evening continued, guests enjoyed a relaxed post-party atmosphere by the shore, with cool breezes and great music that added to the charm of the evening.

It was a celebration of love, culture, and heritage, and we are thrilled to have been part of this unforgettable journey.

2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Salt & Light Events is proud to be a key partner in organizing the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Chennai Chapter. We handled the entire planning and execution of the event, including venue setup, branding, logistics, and audio & visual arrangements.

OSAC Chennai is one of the oldest and most active chapters globally, known for its diverse engagement with the security community and its strong partnerships with the U.S. Department of State, Chennai City Police, academics, and students.

The AGM in India is one of the largest gatherings of security professionals worldwide. Over 450 industry leaders and delegates, including Scott K. Schonauer, Regional Security Officer at the U.S. Consulate Chennai, and Dr. Palanivel Thiagarajan (PTR), Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Tamil Nadu, came together for a day of insightful panel discussions and speaker sessions focused on security and business resilience. This exclusive one-day event brought together security leaders, RSOs from U.S. Embassies and Consulates in India, and business decision-makers across various industries.

The 2024 AGM was a benchmark event with an innovative agenda designed to shape the future of the security industry.
